Does Target have back pay? (If there is a limit, it can be used in store + more)

Afterpay is an international company with many stores in Australia, UK, Canada, United States and New Zealand.

So if you’re a frequent purchaser from Target and wondering if Afterpay is currently available through the company, read on to see what I found out on the matter!

Does Target 2022 have back pay?

Target will accept Afterpay as a valid payment in 2022. However, it’s only available in the US through the Target app and Unfortunately, Target doesn’t accept Afterpay in-store in the US. However, Target locations in New Zealand and Australia accept Afterpay both in-store and online.

Does Target accept Afterpay in the US?

Luckily, US Target stores accept Afterpay.

Previously, US Target stores accepted Afterpay in-store and online. However, Target now only accepts Afterpay payments through and the Target app.

Unfortunately, Target has switched to other buy-now-pay-later platforms that the company allows in-store, eliminating the need to use Afterpay in-store.

Can you use Afterpay in store at Target?

Currently in Australia and New Zealand, you can use Afterpay in store at any Target location. Unfortunately, you can no longer use Afterpay in Target stores in the US.

How do I use Afterpay at Target Online?

Luckily, using Afterpay online through Target is an easy process. You can do this by using the Afterpay app or by using the Afterpay card that you get through the app.

To proceed with Afterpay online through Target, simply checkout once you’re done shopping. After checking out, select Afterpay as the payment method.

If you have the Afterpay card, you don’t need to log into your account or do any other steps. Instead, you simply pay with the card like you would with any other credit or debit card.

However, if you’re using the app as a payment method, you’ll need to log into your account or create one after selecting Afterpay.

If you already have an active Afterpay account, all you have to do is log into your account, either in the app or via

After you have logged in, you can complete your transaction.

If you don’t have an active account with Afterpay, the next step is to create one.

If you need to create an Afterpay account, Target will show you prompts during checkout to help you create an account.

All you have to do is follow the instructions from Target and at the end. Once you have completed your transactions and no longer see long forms, you have been approved.

However, to qualify for Afterpay, you must be at least eighteen years of age and have a valid form of credit or debit card.

A valid form of credit or debit card does not include an Afterpay card. Once you have an active account, you can apply for and receive an Afterpay card.

However, you must have another form of credit or debit card prior to applying for Afterpay in order to be eligible for Afterpay.

Another thing to note in order to qualify for Australian Afterpay is that you must currently reside in Australia.

Does Target have a post-payment limit?

Unfortunately, Target has an afterpay limit. The limit applies to in-store and online purchases in the US, New Zealand and Australia.

To use Afterpay online, you need to spend at least $1, and you can spend up to $1,000.

Of course, if you buy an item and need to use Afterpay, you reach the $1 minimum for online use.

However, you should be careful because if you go over the $1,000 limit, you won’t be able to use Afterpay at checkout.

In store, you must spend a minimum of $100 to use Afterpay, and the maximum remains $1,000.

If you want to use Afterpay in store, you might not easily reach the $100 minimum.

You should make sure you keep track of what you are spending and if it meets the minimum.

However, you also need to be careful not to go over the $1,000 limit.

Are there items that are not available with Afterpay?

Target does not accept the following items with Afterpay:

  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Cold, Allergy and Digestive Health Treatments
  • muscle treatments
  • Personal hygiene products
  • Special gift cards and other related items

If you want to buy one of these items, you cannot select Afterpay when checking out.

Additionally, you must check out your eligible items separately from your non-eligible items if you wish to use Afterpay.

Does Target accept other buy now pay later services?

Online, Target accepts six buy-now-pay-later platforms in addition to Afterpay. These platforms are as follows:
